There are few challenges in life more difficult and rewarding than providing care for a loved one. The Manatee County Caregiver Forum has been established to recognize and celebrate caregivers and promote self care through motivational and inspirational speakers, provide education and practical tips in varied areas of care giving and attempt to define services available to the caregiver as we unravel the mysteries surrounding the current web of service delivery.

First In Care is a sponsor of the Caregiver Forum. As providers of senior home care and care for the elderly, we know just how trying aging care can be. That is why we appreciate this opportunity to recognize family caregivers through this event.

The Manatee County Caregiver Forum holds an annual event called the Circle of Care. The focus of this event is to provide caregivers with valuable information regarding community resources while also providing relief from their daily responsibilities to help them continue their important role as a caregiver. If you are helping a loved one, this forum is specifically designed to provide you with support, information and tools to best assist your care recipient and keep you in a healthy state of being.

One Family’s Journey Through Our Elder Care Maze

The story of one son’s turbulent navigation through the system of long-term care services.
An only child, Clyde Jr. is responsible for his physically active parents, thousands of miles away. Bonne and Clyde are both young at heart and going through the normal process of aging. However, Clyde Jr. experiences frustration when he realizes that he lacks the knowledge and time to manage his parents’ declining health and growing needs. Each visit he finds change in his parents’ health, and shuttling between Seattle, Washington and Bradenton, Florida becomes increasingly difficult due to family and work obligations. Pulled by guilt and resentment, he is relieved when he finds a network of Health Care Professionals who can assist him in this journey.
